Containerised Sewage Treatment in Mpumulanga

A Containerized Sewage Treatment Plant was installed to provide reliable wastewater treatment and water reuse with minimal operator involvement. Raw sewage is pumped from a supplied collection sump, which is approximately 3.0 metres deep, to the treatment system. Thereafter, biological treatment is carried out within a modified 6 m shipping container.

The system has been designed to operate automatically and, consequently, only minimal operator intervention is required. Furthermore, compact construction allows the plant to be installed in locations where space is limited.

Containerized Sewage Treatment Plant for Biological Treatment

Biological treatment of the wastewater is performed inside a single modified shipping container. Organic material is removed, while dissolved nitrogen compounds are simultaneously reduced through carefully controlled treatment processes. As a result, a high-quality treated effluent is consistently produced.

Because the treatment process is fully automated, process control is continuously maintained. In addition, routine operating requirements are kept to a minimum, thereby reducing maintenance and operational costs.

Water Reuse Applications

Once treatment has been completed, the treated water can be reused for a variety of non-potable applications. Consequently, fresh water consumption can be reduced and sustainable water management practices can be supported.
